Artist Statement

In this picture, there are many messages that represent what happened during the Mexican Revolution. There is one federal fighting with two women in the front, while in the back there is two Mexican rebels looking at the fight not really knowing what to fight for or really caring about it. Another message was that a lot of women had an important role during this time, and they would participate in the war for the better being of their families.
During the revolution many rebels that were participating in it didn’t really have a cause to fight. They would start fighting for a small reason and keep fighting in it just because they were so used to fighting. The two men in the back represent those rebels that don’t really know what they keep fighting for. They just drink beer and have a good time.
The Mexican flag was a clue that it was the Mexican revolution. The beer added by Photoshop was to show that he didn’t really care and was interested in something else.
